Sugar Pine Railway Trail

A beautiful hike to a wonderful alpine meadow!

This is one of our favorite hikes! This is an excellent stop if you have extra time on your way up or traveling home. Google says it is twenty-three minutes from our lovely home. The hike is about an hour up and an hour back.  Bring water and snacks and enjoy the fantastic alpine meadow, which is almost at the trail's end. Starting at the bottom  (see Google Map link above) enables you to walk uphill at the start and downhill on the way back.   If you want to take a short walk down to the meadow, you can start at the top on Old Strawberry Road.  See Forrest Service info map and info.
